Product Questions

Can I have multiple locks open using the same key?

Yes, you will want to order your locks with the "keyed alike" if available for your model. These are typically identified with a KA in the model number and provides a solution where multiple padlocks are used but need to be opened with the same key.

What does the "keyed different" option mean?

"Keyed different" means that each lock you order will have its own unique key. This option is typically identified with a KD in the model number.

What does the "master keyed" option mean?

"Master keyed" means that each lock you order will have its own unique key, but can all be opened by an independent master key. This option is typically identified with a MK in the model number and is best used in applications where supervisory or emergency access is needed. The master key in a set of master keyed padlocks is sold separately.

I've lost the combination to my padlock, can you retrieve it for me?

If the lock is currently attached to something, the combination can not be provided for security reasons.

In regards to resettable combination locks, these have a combination that is set by the owner of the padlock. Therefore, ABUS will not have record of the combination. If your lock is attached to anything, you will need to call a locksmith for removal.

If the lock you have lost the combination to is a standard, non-resettable lock, you can call the manufacturer direct at 800-353-2287 for assistance.
